Another AbZOOlutely beautiful day for the introduction of our "naked" animals to the public and to our sponsors and artists. During the afternoon the residents of Chestnut Hill were treated to a street event with food, music, face painting and most of the animals on display, including our impressive 12 foot tall elephant.
That evening our sponsors and artists were able to gather together to meet each other and celebrate their participation in AbZOOlutely Chestnut Hill.
Now the artists get the animals and begin to work their magic to transform these life-size fiberglass animals into unique artistic creations that will appear on the streets of Chestnut Hill. The artists will have the animals for the summer and then in September the finished animals will placed up and down Germantown Avenue and Bethlehem Pike, where they will remain for two months for residents and visitors of the Hill to enjoy. Finally on November 18th, the animals will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Chestnut Hill Community Fund and the Preservation and Beautification of the District.
