The Trolley Llama is the result of a collaborative effort at Dagit • Saylor Architects. Shortly after being asked to participate in AbZOOlutely, an inner office mini competition was held to explore ideas for the painting of our llama. Several interesting designs were proposed and a pinup “jury” was held. In spite of several creative approaches, discussions lead to the question: What would be symbolic for Chestnut Hill? The memorable but now missing Septa trolley service came to mind and in an instant the notion of the Trolley Llama was born. Photos were researched and adapted to our llama’s torso. Two months later, after numerous evening hours of “group paints”, the finished Trolley Llama emerged. Getting him into a vehicle for transport back to Chestnut Hill was a feat in itself, but all he needs now are wheels and a lift back onto the tracks.
This llama will be auctioned off at our live AbZOOlutely Auction on November 18.
Bidders need not be present at the live auction to win. Bids can be left with the AbZOOlutely staff up until 5:00 pm on November 17.
